Abdessamad later identified another project, which was the renovation and equipment of a "Multifunctional Room". The people collectively expressed a desire for the children to have access to a classroom and computers. They suggested renovating an existing room for the children and also to be used as a meeting room and as a classroom for adults/women literacy classes in the future. Program Coordinator - Nadia Kamra
Nadia is from Ouled Teima in the Taroudant Province. She Graduated from Ibn Zohr University with a B.A. degree in English Literature. As a CorpsAfrica Volunteer in the High Atlas Mountains, in the village of Tizi Oussem, Nadia taught Arabic to around 20 women of the village and led sessions on personal hygiene and health issues and prevention particular to the region. She hoped to empower the women through these classes and sessions, especially since women and girls in this region have been marginalized and often excluded from social, educational and political decisions that often directly affect their community. Nadia’s main project was the renovation of the village’s preschool. With the help of the village community, a Korean NGO and a Peace Corps Volunteer, they repainted the walls of the classroom with humidity-resistant painting, adding color and drawings to make it more inviting to the children. Nadia also led a book and toy drive, also used to equip the preschool.
