Empowering Entrepreneurs, Driving Impact – CorpsAfrica Alumni CEI Pitch Event 2026

The CorpsAfrica Entrepreneurship and Incubator (CEI) program continues to champion Alumni-led ventures that create jobs and stimulate economic growth across Africa. In 2026, the program reached a major milestone with the CEI Pitch Event, a three-day showcase of innovation, mentorship, and investment opportunities for 45 Alumni entrepreneurs.

Since its inception, the CEI program has supported 36 Alumni businesses, with a strategic goal of adding 45 more ventures in 2026. CEI provides participants with a comprehensive support system that includes intensive virtual training, seed funding, and two years of dedicated follow-up, ensuring ventures are positioned for long-term success. The Pitch Event serves as the program’s culminating milestone, selecting 30 high-potential businesses to receive both mentorship and the $5,000 CorpsAfrica Seed Grant.

The 45 entrepreneurs selected for this year’s event underwent six weeks of intensive training facilitated by Proportion Global, designed to prepare them for high-impact business pitches. Participants were divided into three cohorts and engaged in live sessions totaling over ten hours, interactive workshops led by five expert trainers, and weekly assignments on the Innovators Team Platform. This platform enabled peer-to-peer review, personalized trainer feedback, and consistent tracking of business development. The curriculum focused on business modeling, financial planning, market validation, and preparing participants to deliver compelling, investor-ready pitches.

The CEI Pitch Event was designed to achieve four key goals: to evaluate the feasibility, scalability, and social impact of Alumni-led ventures; to provide actionable feedback and professional exposure from industry experts; to award seed funding to the top 30 projects to accelerate growth; and to strengthen the global CorpsAfrica network through entrepreneurship and knowledge-sharing. The event, hosted virtually, welcomed CorpsAfrica staff, partners, Alumni, and program beneficiaries, with each cohort having a dedicated session.

Each pitch was evaluated by a panel of three to four jurors, including senior CorpsAfrica leadership to ensure alignment with the organization’s mission, external subject matter experts in entrepreneurship and social impact to provide market-driven insights, and established Alumni entrepreneurs who bring firsthand experience in scaling ventures. Participants were assessed on six key criteria: the quality and professionalism of their presentation, clarity of their business model and value proposition, feasibility and long-term sustainability, commitment during the training period, strategic planning for the $5,000 grant, and the potential for economic impact through local job creation and community wealth building.

The CorpsAfrica Alumni CEI Pitch Event 2026 successfully showcased the talent, innovation, and dedication of Alumni entrepreneurs, reinforcing the organization’s mission to foster community-led economic development. The top 30 ventures will now move forward with seed funding and mentorship, poised to make a measurable impact in their communities.

Support Our Work

CorpsAfrica addresses two of Africa’s most difficult challenges: engaging youth and helping rural communities overcome extreme poverty. We recruit and train motivated volunteers to live and work in rural, under-resourced areas in their own countries. They collaborate with the community to design and implement small-scale projects that address their top priorities and, by doing so, gain the skills and experience that lay the foundation for personal and professional success.

CorpsAfrica trusts youth and communities to help each other.
