Career Catalysts:
Accelerating Pathways and Dignified Work for African Youth

The CorpsAfrica Alumni Virtual Summit is a three-day, fully online event designed to equip African youth with the skills, tools, and networks needed to thrive in entrepreneurship and career development.

From October 17–19, 2025, 481 young Africans participated in interactive workshops, expert-led webinars, and networking sessions, exploring youth employment, entrepreneurship, and professional growth. The summit featured 32 speakers from 10 partner organizations, including:

Alumni-led businesses: Rchima Design, Dreams Kente Ventures, and Green Innovation Network

Youth Partner Organizations: UN Volunteer Program, EFE Maroc, Power Learn Project, Proportion Global, FCDO-British Embassy in Rabat, Miller Center for Social Entrepreneurship, Moroccan Leadership Institute, and Tropical Snacks.

Through this annual event, CorpsAfrica supports young leaders in transitioning from service into meaningful careers, helping alumni launch businesses, lead nonprofits, and succeed in major organizations.

Guest Speakers

Anne Rose Kogi is the UNV Country Coordinator for Kenya. She strategically manages a cohort of approximately 420 United Nations Volunteers across the country, focusing on volunteer mobilization, programming, and advocacy. In close collaboration with UN agencies and Volunteer Involving Organizations, she works to amplify impact and advance the culture of volunteerism, particularly among youth in academic institutions, as a key driver of civic engagement and social development.

Juliana Tele is the Online Volunteering Coordinator for East and Southern Africa. She specializes in facilitating digital engagement by connecting skilled volunteers with impactful opportunities across the region. Her work focuses on supporting UN agencies and civil society organizations by promoting inclusive volunteer mobilization, strengthening strategic partnerships, and advocating for youth volunteerism as a key driver of civic participation and social transformation.

Caroline Okila is the Regional Talent Acquisition Analyst for East and Southern Africa at the UNV Regional Office in Nairobi. With over sixteen years of experience in human resource management, she oversees talent acquisition strategies and outreach across 23 countries. Caroline specializes in recruitment, policy development, and volunteer mobilization, with a strong focus on diversity and inclusion. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Social Studies (Psychology) and is a CIPD Foundation Member.

Susan Kamau is an accomplished Project Manager at Power Learn Project (PLP), specializing in leading teams and driving strategic partnerships for impactful initiatives. At PLP, she managed a team of 36 and was instrumental in shaping key programs like Coffee & Code and the AI Safari Academy, contributing to curriculum design and reaching over 15,000 beneficiaries. Susan also consults to refine professional profiles, consistently focusing on creating meaningful change through her work. She lives by the guiding philosophy: "Your Network is your Networth."

Edwin Wabomba is an Urban Specialist, Real Estate Investment Advisor, and founding CEO of Wakari Housing, a housing and urban development services firm. With expertise in developing urban strategies, policies, and action plans, he is dedicated to creating Clean, Green, and Organized African cities. A 2022 Chevening Scholar and YALI alumnus, Edwin focuses on accelerating progress toward SDGs 8, 11, and 13 through affordable housing, proper waste management, and environmental conservation. He holds an MSc in City Planning and Real Estate Development from the University of Glasgow.

Zakaria Nidkazza is a Monitoring & Evaluation specialist with over a decade of experience in development and community-focused projects. He holds a master's degree in Information Systems Engineering and has worked with various organizations, including Nordic Consulting Group, OXFAM, APEFE, and CorpsAfrica, where he served as a Community Development Specialist. His expertise includes developing M&E systems, providing technical support for data analysis and reporting, and facilitating training for program teams.

Aimane Cherragui is a senior project manager at the Abdelkader Bensalah Foundation and a non-profit management expert. Aimane works with various national and international organizations in Morocco and the MENA region on their capacity-building and social innovation models. Aimane is an alumnus of the IVLP Exchange Program - Cohort 2020. He is a bookworm, a proud native of the city of Khouribga, and a skilled judoka!

Arthur Nkosi is the Director of People and Culture at CorpsAfrica, following over six years as the Director of CorpsAfrica/Malawi. He brings a deep background in leadership, organizational behavior, and human resources, including serving as the Chief Human Resources Officer at Opportunity International Bank of Malawi, where he managed a workforce of over 600. With twelve years of micro-finance banking experience and a focus on building sustainable communities through financial services, Arthur holds a BA in Marketing and Business Administration and a PgD in Leadership and Change Management from Leeds Beckett University.

Karen Runde is Director of Alumni Programs at Miller Center for Social Entrepreneurship located at Santa Clara University where she helps the social enterprise alumni community continue to scale their impact. Prior to joining Miller Center, Karen worked at As You Sow, promoting corporate social accountability around conflict minerals and cotton. Karen holds two Master of Science degrees in Environmental Studies & Sustainability Science from Lund University and Roskilde University and a BA from UCLA. In her spare time, she teaches barre classes at Pure Barre Burlingame.

Salma KARIM is the Head of Human Capital & Innovation at the Digital Development Agency (ADD) in Morocco, a government leader in digital transformation. She was a key contributor to major national initiatives, including the "Al Khawarzimi" AI research program, the "Digital Generation" strategic plan, and the launch of "Academia Raqmya," an e-learning platform that has upskilled over 40,000 people. As a U.S. Department of State IVLP alumna, she remains at the forefront of driving innovation and education to advance Morocco's digital future.

Victor Annani Togborlo is a CorpsAfrica Volunteer serving in Ghana, where he combines his background in Actuarial Science with a passion for promoting STEM education in rural communities. An alumnus and current Application Reader for the Mandela Washington Fellowship, he leverages his academic foundation and certificates in Development Economics and Supply Chain Management to facilitate effective community development initiatives and expand his practical experience in the field.

Mouhiddine Hamma is a Graphic Designer, Social Worker, and Pan-Africanist dedicated to using creative communication for social impact across Africa. He currently serves with the WHO Emergency Hub in Dakar, designing impactful visuals to strengthen health intelligence and emergency preparedness. An experienced development professional, Mouhiddine previously worked with the African Union in Nigeria and has led community projects across Morocco, Malawi, Rwanda, and Nigeria during his service with UNICEF and CorpsAfrica. A UNAOC Fellow, he champions youth leadership and Pan-African collaboration.

Agenda

Day 1: Youth Employment and Market Needs

This day focused on helping participants navigate the competitive job market and build meaningful careers.

Key Sessions: The day kicked off with an open session on “Career Pathways Through Volunteerism – Onsite & Online UN Volunteers”.

Workshops: Attendees gained practical job-search tools through hands-on sessions covering resume and cover letter writing, personal branding, and interview techniques. The day provided insights from recruiters and alumni working in international organizations, highlighting employer expectations.

Day 2: Entrepreneurship Mindset in Africa and Investment Opportunities

Day two was dedicated to fostering entrepreneurial skills and sustainable ventures.

Workshops: Sessions guided alumni through building sustainable business models, using data for project success, and transforming community savings groups into thriving enterprises.

Webinars: Afternoon sessions focused on green entrepreneurship and climate action and featured the Alumni Entrepreneurship Journey, where successful alumni shared best practices and tips for applying to the CorpsAfrica Entrepreneurship Incubator (CEI).

Day 3: Opportunities for Professional Growth and International Exposure

The final day focused on leveraging the CorpsAfrica experience for advanced education and global roles.

Workshops: A session on “Work Smarter, Connect Smarter: Unlocking Opportunity with AI-Powered Networking” was held.

Webinars: The closing sessions included “Unlocking International Opportunities: Fellowships, Programs, and Scholarships”.
