Biography

Ararso Mahadi Abdule was born and raised in Maya City, Haramayaa Town, located in the Oromia Region of Ethiopia. He is a passionate environmentalist and community-oriented professional with a strong dedication to sustainable development, youth empowerment, and social impact. In 2016, he graduated with a bachelor’s degree in environmental science from Hawassa University. His senior research project, titled “Investigation of the Impact of Manufacturing Industry on Drinking Water Quality Parameters in Hawassa City,” reflected his strong interest in environmental protection and public health.
After completing his degree, he worked with the Ethiopia Statistics Service as a field supervisor for the national Agricultural Census. In this role, he led data collection efforts in rural communities, gaining valuable experience in rural development, agriculture, and community engagement. Beyond his professional work, Ararso Mahadi has shown initiative in entrepreneurship and youth employment. He proposed and led a vermicompost production project that created job opportunities for four young women and three young men, contributing to both environmental sustainability and local economic empowerment. During his university years, he served as a member of the Student Council in charge of discipline affairs. He was also an active participant in environmental clubs and led several Volunteer initiatives, playing a key role in coordinating and managing tasks. His leadership and teamwork made a significant impact on both campus and community activities. Each summer, while on break from university, he returned to Maya City to Volunteer as a teacher for high school students, demonstrating his commitment to education and community service.
Currently, he is a proud member of the third cohort of CorpsAfrica Ethiopia, a transformative program that empowers young leaders to drive change in their communities. Through this platform, Ararso Mahadi continues to work as a dedicated changemaker, promoting sustainable development and inspiring the next generation of Ethiopian youth.
