Biography

Binta Bayo is a young and passionate CorpsAfrica volunteer with a Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics. Her academic journey was marked by excellence, earning her a scholarship from the Division of Physical and Natural Sciences at the University of The Gambia. She began her journey in volunteering and leadership from primary school, driven by a strong commitment to service and personal growth.

Binta serves as an executive member and Vice President of the Banjulinding Kids Bantaba, a registered platform created to provide children with opportunities to learn, express themselves, and showcase their talents and potential. She has a strong interest in data collection and research, which enabled her to work with GBoS during the 2024 Population and Housing Census as a supervisor.

Her passion for community development also led her to contribute to the establishment of the Banjulinding Mortuary, demonstrating her dedication to impactful community initiatives. As a former Starfish Girl and current mentee at Starfish, Binta gained valuable skills in public speaking, confidence building, and self-development, which continue to shape her leadership and service journey.

As a CorpsAfrica Volunteer she wants to pursue her passion to serve the community.
