Biography

Aklilu Belay is a passionate mechanical engineer and committed community servant based in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. He holds a Bachelors Degree in Mechanical Engineering from Addis Ababa Science and Technology University, where he developed a solid foundation in engineering principles along with a strong interest in sustainable development. While pursuing his studies, Aklilu interned at Ekram Automotive, where he gained valuable practical experience and insights into the automotive industry. His time there strengthened his problem-solving skills and deepened his appreciation for innovation and efficiency.
Beyond engineering, Aklilu is deeply driven by a desire to contribute to the betterment of his community. This passion led him to join CorpsAfrica/Ethiopia as a Volunteer, where he works on grassroots development initiatives that empower local communities and promote long-term change. His work focuses on identifying local challenges and collaborating with residents to create impactful, locally-driven solutions. Aklilu believes in using his technical skills not just for industrial advancement but as a tool to improve lives and uplift underserved communities. He aspires to continue bridging the gap between technology and social impact, driven by the belief that meaningful change begins at the community level.
