Biography
Nyajay Satta Braima is a dedicated Gambian educator with a strong passion for teaching, youth leadership, and community service. She holds an Advanced Diploma in English Language and Agricultural Science from The Gambia College, School of Education, where she built a solid foundation in teaching methods, subject content, and effective communication.
She has served both on contract and as a volunteer teacher, using learner‑centred approaches to create inclusive classrooms that support students’ academic and personal development. She is known for her reliability, strong work ethic, and ability to work under pressure while maintaining high professional standards.
Beyond the classroom, she has demonstrated exceptional leadership. She served as Head Girl of Tahir Ahmadiyya Muslim Senior Secondary School and led both the Competitive College Club and the Peer Health Club, promoting academic excellence, health awareness, and teamwork among her peers.
Nyajay, is also a PAYLP alumna, having represented The Gambia in the Pan‑African Youth Leadership Program in the United States of America, where she strengthened her skills in civic engagement, cross‑cultural communication, and youth advocacy. She continues to see herself as a role model and change -maker, committed to empowering young people, especially girls, through education and leadership. She starts her journey as a volunteer in Corps Africa ,aiming to make lasting impacts.
She is committed to serving rural communities through grassroots, community-led development. This unique opportunity allows her to live and work in a local setting, listen deeply to community needs, and support sustainable solutions. Through this experience.
