Biography
Jean de la Croix Byiringiro was born and brought up in Rwanda, where he developed a great interest in the role of agriculture in transforming societies. He holds a Bachelor of Rural Development from the University of Rwanda, having been equipped with competencies and expertise to address issues facing rural livelihoods.
Strongly committed to sustainable development, Jean de la Croix has a special interest in building solutions to poverty through priority emphasis on agriculture and community initiatives. He believes that the empowerment of local communities and rooting farming systems are the factors that are the keys to sustained social and economic development.
In addition to his professional interests, Jean de la Croix also enjoys cultural expression and heritage. He is a keen traditional dance enthusiast who loves participation in developing and keeping Rwanda’s rich culture. His fascination with rural development and cultural identity is part of his broader vision for a more inclusive and vibrant society.
