Biography
Lusungu Chikopa is a proactive social and gender advocate with strong experience in community development, project coordination, and empowerment initiatives. She holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Community Development from Malawi Assemblies of God University and has dedicated her career to advancing child protection, education, and inclusive community growth.
Her professional journey includes impactful roles as an intern at the Mangochi District Community Development Office, a social welfare volunteer intern at M’mbelwa District Council, and a field facilitator with Innovation for Poverty Action. Across these positions, she has led adult literacy programs, supported social welfare services, facilitated VSLAs, promoted climate-resilient agriculture, and worked on data-driven initiatives that improve livelihoods and safeguard vulnerable groups.
As a volunteer and practitioner, Lusungu is passionate about creating opportunities where children, women, and marginalized communities can thrive. She believes in the power of local participation and grassroots leadership to bring about sustainable change.
Outside her professional duties, Lusungu continues to share her skills through volunteering, mentorship, and community mobilization, always striving to inspire resilience and empowerment at the grassroots level.
