Biography
Pascaline Ingabire joined the Protestant University of Rwanda (PUR), where she earned her bachelor’s degree in Peacebuilding and Development. Throughout her academic journey, she demonstrated a strong commitment to promoting peace, youth empowerment, and social justice. Her dedication to community well-being was further reinforced through professional training and workshops, including the Youth Empowerment for Nonviolent Action (YENA) program, hosted in collaboration with Vision Jeunesse Nouvelle, and the Peace Ambassadors Network (PAN) in Aegis Trust, and multiple levels of Alternatives to Violence Project (AVP) training.
Beyond academics, Pascaline has actively engaged in grassroots community work. She served as a Para-social worker, supporting families’ well-being and outreach programs. From 2017 to 2023, she also worked as a journalist with Nyiramubande Magazine, a project by Ejo Youth Echo (EYE), where she documented stories on peace, resilience, and refugee life. She gained additional professional experience during her internships at the Rwanda Men’s Resources Center (RWAMREC) and through ICT training at the University of Rwanda, Huye Campus.
Her strong voice as a youth leader has been recognized on national platforms, including as a panelist on Rwanda Television (RTV) during Kwibuka 30 in Rubyiruko Menya Amateka yawe Program and in dialogues addressing the root causes of the Genocide against the Tutsi. She has also represented young people regionally, including during the Great Lakes Region youth exchange hosted by Vision Jeunesse Nouvelle.
Inspired by her own experience as a single mother, Pascaline founded Iheshe Agaciro Nawe Urashoboye, an initiative under the UBUMWE Group. This project focuses on empowering teen mothers and improving the lives of their children by promoting dignity, self-reliance, and social inclusion.
Currently, Pascaline is serving as a CorpsAfrica Volunteer in Nyamagabe District, Cyanika Sector, Karama Cell, Nyanza Village, where she works with community members to identify priorities, implement sustainable projects, and empower youth to become agents of positive change.
