Biography
Denyse Ishimwe holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Creative Design specialising in Environmental Design from the University of Rwanda. Her deep love of art and helping others has influenced her journey. She is fascinated and interested in all forms of artistic expression and believes in giving help to others.
Denyse is drawn to Rwandan culture, which she incorporates into her artworks, where she uses Imigongo art in making wall hanging decor. She was selected to participate in Rwanda Cultural Heritage Academy (RCHA)’s incubation program, where she worked with other youth on culture related projects aiming to preserve and promote Rwanda’s culture and heritage.
Beyond her academic and cultural interests, Denyse serves as a dedicated Sunday school teacher at her local church, where she teaches children to be compassionate and love one another. Her commitment to helping others continues through her current role as a CorpsAfrica/Rwanda Volunteer in where she is proud and happy to experience the journey of working alongside the community, to get to their sustainable development.
With each step, Denyse hopes to make a lasting impact, through empowering others and celebrating culture.
