James Kaguyu Njau is a passionate community development specialist with a Bachelor’s Degree in Social Science, specializing in Community Development. Born in Kisumu County and raised in Murang’a County, Kenya, James has extensive experience working with communities to identify and leverage local resources for sustainable solutions.
James has skills in project management, monitoring and evaluation, human-centered design approaches, fundraising, and resource mobilization.
He has held various leadership roles, including serving with Kenya’s Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) as a voter registration clerk, deputy presiding officer, and presiding officer. His strong interpersonal skills and responsible approach make him an effective collaborator in diverse settings.
As a staunch advocate for youth empowerment and Pan-Africanism, James believes in harnessing the energy and creativity of Africa’s youth to redefine the continent’s development. Currently, he volunteers with CorpsAfrica/Gambia in The Gambia as an exchange Volunteer , facilitating community-led development initiatives. Previously, he held a similar role with CorpsAfrica/Kenya in Kenya, helping under-resourced communities improve their livelihoods through sustainable practices.
James enjoys socializing, making new friends, traveling, and reading in his free time.
