Biography
Romana Kamau is a dedicated Agribusiness and Climate Resilience Specialist with over five years of hands-on experience in promoting sustainable agriculture, climate-smart practices, and rural development in Kenya. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Agribusiness Management and Enterprise Development from Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology (JKUAT) and is currently advancing her expertise through CorpsAfrica’s Volunteer program in Kenya.
Romana has successfully trained over 5020 farmers on climate-smart agricultural techniques, significantly boosting productivity and improving livelihoods. Her career includes impactful roles at organizations such as Land Restoration Initiative Kenya (LRIK), Mboga Center Merchants Limited, and the Nyeri South Sub-County Agricultural Extension Office, where she designed and implemented innovative projects in water conservation, agroforestry, soil fertility, and market linkages.
She has also contributed to national policy dialogue as a Rapporteur at the Africa Climate Summit, where she supported high-level engagements around climate resilience and agriculture. Romana is passionate about empowering communities through knowledge transfer, sustainable practices, and data-driven solutions, with a strong focus on enhancing food security, market development, and environmental sustainability.
