Biography
Blessings Laws Likomwa is a passionate and versatile young professional. He holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Development Economics from LUANAR-Bunda College, focusing much on economic challenges and sustainable development, mostly in the context of agriculture and rural areas. His passion for economics and sustainable development was initiated and grew due to his growing up in a rural setting and having to experience predicaments with regards to poverty.
Blessings has professional experience as a data enumerator with the Malawi National Statistical Office, an accounts’ intern at Eastern Produce Malawi Mini-Mini tea estate and an M&E assistant intern at Neno District Council under the Malawi Local Government. The academic and professional exposure have equipped him with critical thinking, problem solving and analytical skills that he applies and are essential to grassroot development initiatives.
Blessings is deeply passionate and committed to community development, with particular interests in economic empowerment, education, climate change, youth empowerment and food security, hence he joined CorpsAfrica as a Volunteer where he looks forward to applying his knowledge and skills to support impactful development initiatives that address pressings social and economic challenges. He also looks forward to working together with the community he serves in contributing to transformative solutions that improve livelihoods and promote inclusive growth, especially in underserved communities. I am excited to be part of CorpsAfrica/Malawi G9 Cohort where I believe that after the service my personal and professional life will change for the better as I believe I will gain relevant experience which I will greatly apply wherever I go.
