Deputy Country Director

Phillip joined CorpsAfrica in June 2025 as the Deputy Country Director for the South Africa office. He brings more than 20 years of experience working at the intersection of public health and human rights in South Africa. Over the years, Phillip has taken on leadership roles with a range of advocacy and development organizations, including the Global Health Advocacy Incubator, Treatment Action Campaign, ActionAid South Africa, Beyond Zero, and mothers2mothers.

His work has focused on building and supporting grassroots movements, shaping health policy, and helping institutions strengthen their strategic planning and operations. He’s also worked to bring people and organizations together, building coalitions and partnerships that bridge sectors and drive lasting change.

Phillip has contributed to national, regional, and global conversations on public health through his involvement with technical committees at the WHO, SANAC, SADC, the International Budget Partnership, and various Pan-African legal and policy bodies.
