Biography
Lucius Mponda is from the Thyolo district. He holds a Bachelor of Social Science in Development Studies with a minor in Social Work from The Catholic University of Malawi.
His passion for development, particularly in supporting rural communities that feel declined and left behind, is what drove Lucius to join CorpsAfrica. This passion aligns perfectly with CorpsAfrica’s approach of community-led development, where local people are the architects of their own growth.
Immediately before beginning his service, Lucius was an intern at The Office of the Director of Public Officers’ Declarations (ODPOD), within the planning department, where he gained valuable insight into governance and strategic development planning.
Lucius believes that as a CorpsAfrica Volunteer, he will be able to use his academic background and practical experience to help facilitate community-driven change and empower local people to achieve sustainable development on their own terms.
