Biography
Phumzile Sithole was born and raised in a township called Soweto in South Africa, being born and bred in one of Johannesburg’s most vibrant and historic townships, she has always been inspired by the resilience, creativity, and spirit of her community hence values continue to shape her professional journey and service to others.
Phumzile is currently serving as a CorpsAfrica Volunteer, cohort 2 where she works closely with local communities to promote sustainable development initiatives and empower individuals through skills training, education, and community engagement. Her role allows her to combine her passion for human-centered development with her academic background and leadership abilities to make a lasting impact at the grassroots level.
A proud graduate of the University of Johannesburg, Phumzile earned her degree with a strong focus on psychological studies. Soon after graduating, she was selected for an internship with the University of Johannesburg under Diageo, where she gained valuable experience in professional collaboration, project coordination, and organizational development. This opportunity strengthened her understanding of corporate and community partnerships and deepened her commitment to fostering inclusive growth and development across South Africa.
Phumzile is passionate about youth empowerment, education, and social innovation. She believes in the power of leadership through service and continuously seeks opportunities to uplift others while contributing to sustainable, community-led change. Guided by integrity, empathy, and purpose, she continues to build a career defined by impact, collaboration, and the pursuit of positive transformation.
