The Harenifuma and Chefasine schools now have safe, gender-segregated, and disability-accessible latrines with hand-washing stations, built through a joint effort by the community and CorpsAfrica/Ethiopia. Previously, the lack of hygienic toilets contributed to health issues and reduced school attendance, especially among girls.
With a total cost of 327,600 ETB, the project directly benefits 1,047 students and staff and indirectly supports 21 households and 102 community members. In addition to construction, health awareness sessions were conducted to promote hygiene practices, helping create a healthier school environment and reinforcing long-term community engagement.
This project was facilitated by Kidist Meseret, in partnership with the Harenifuma and Chefasine school communities, local authorities, and CorpsAfrica/Ethiopia.
