Rushekyera Youth Honeybee Project is an enterprise promoting eco-friendly employment opportunities for 50 youth through honey processing and making of wax byproducts. The project involves trainings in apiary for honey production and by products from wax agronomy to equip youth with knowledge and skills in organic honey processing and production as well as making other by products from wax such as candles for income. The project supports youth with apiary equipment to facilitate production. These include gathering equipment essentials such as a full beekeeping suit, gloves, a smoker and hive tool for hive management and establishing the bee colony. With the purchase of apiary equipment and acquired knowledge, the Rushekyera Youth Honeybee Project is supported to produce larger amounts of honey and other byproducts including candles and jelly thereby maximising their profits.
CorpsAfrica addresses two of Africa’s most difficult challenges: engaging youth and helping rural communities overcome extreme poverty. We recruit and train motivated volunteers to live and work in rural, under-resourced areas in their own countries. They collaborate with the community to design and implement small-scale projects that address their top priorities and, by doing so, gain the skills and experience that lay the foundation for personal and professional success.
CorpsAfrica trusts youth and communities to help each other.
