On March 31 2023, after a rigorous process, eight CorpsAfrica/Rwanda Volunteers were selected to present projects to potential donors and invited guests. Project Demo Day is a fundraising initiative that seeks to raise funds for community-led projects identified by host communities in collaboration with Volunteers. Rwanda's event was well-attended and the pitches thrilled attendees who expressed a desire to support them. 
Below are the presented projects; all projects are still available for additional funding support.

Local Market Project

Gaseke Village in Nyamagabe 
Total Cost: $7,090
Community Contribution: $2,434 


The Local Market Project was identified by community members. When implemented, it will save the community from having to travel long-distance, avoid transport costs and will help them save money. It will impact 2,000 community members and will contribute to the economy by accelerating business opportunities.

Animal Feed Project

 The Harvest Store Project is a youth-led. This revenue-generating project will concentrate on: buying, storing, reselling, and reinvesting agricultural harvest. It promotes youth employment, improves market access, and serves as a community buffer stock. It will directly benefit 30 youth in Taba Village and indirectly impact 1500 community members in Taba and nearby villages.

Animal Feed Project

The Animal Feed Project is a youth-led community development is aimed at providing animal supplementary feeds to local farmers and promotes youth employment. It will directly impact 34 youth in Ntuntu Village and indirectly benefit 1864 farmers in Ntuntu and neighboring communities.

Gacinyiro Sports Field Project

Community Contribution: $2,978

The Gacinyiro Project will provide recreational spaces including Football court, Basketball and hand ball courts in Muhe Primary School and will impact about 2,000 students. The community identified that because children lacked access to sports facilities, they had limited socialization opportunities and were experiencing the negative impacts of physical inactivity. The proposed project will have social and economic benefits.

Ruhashya Vocational Center

Ruhashya Vocational Center is a youth-led community development project aimed at Equipping rural youth in Ruhashya village with vocational skills particularly tailoring  and welding. This project will directly benefit 30 youths (20 Girls & 10 boys) and indirectly
benefit more than 200 people in Ruhashya and neighboring villages.

Milling Machine Project

The Milling machine was identified to address how the community can add value to raw agricultural products, generate income, and improve community dieting. The project will impact about 130 households and indirectly impact around 3000 people  in three nearby villages (1200  farmers, 200 traders, and 1600 households).

Vegetable Farming Project

Vegetable Farming Project is a community-led and identified that aims to provide a new source of income. This project will directly  impact 95 community members and indirectly impact 3000 community members living in nearby villages.

Funding Request: ~$3,671

Rock Design Project

Community Contribution: $200

The project trains youth to cut igneous rocks into various forms and designs that will be used for different construction styles. They will learn how to build architectural designs using these well- processed rock materials. Later they will create a cooperative so they can make, sell and build these well processed rock materials-- enhancing their income generation.

Funding Request: $500​
