CorpsAfrica Rehab

Looking back at the days before I joined CorpsAfrica as a Volunteer, a lot has changed. Focusing on my inner person, I can feel the impact of the immense change I have achieved so far. First, let me focus on the selfish goals I used to set for myself such as getting a good job, building a mansion owning an expensive car, establishing a good family, and perhaps living happily after. Many times, I ended up getting disappointed whenever I didn’t achieve at least a good job, but what job is good? I am never remorseful to have resigned from “my good paying job “to give back to the communities before I embark on my personal development and economic growth.

Secondly looking at the external environment, I believed that only the government could fix the broken roads, ensure regional development, etc., and thus found myself complaining about the poor government performance. I cannot forget the time I participated in a university strike because of insecurity, how many structures we broke that we never fixed, and how many innocent minds we influenced negatively.

CorpsAfrica training transitioned my mind, helped me realize my mistakes, and learned from my own experience before it was out of hand. I am passionate about empowering youths through conflict resolution, problem-solving, peer counseling, and career guidance. From CorpsAfrica’s trainings, I shifted my energy from complaining to performing and that has created a desirable sustainable impact in the lives of the people of the community I serve wholeheartedly. Development begins with the transformation of the mind.

Support Our Work

CorpsAfrica addresses two of Africa’s most difficult challenges: engaging youth and helping rural communities overcome extreme poverty. We recruit and train motivated volunteers to live and work in rural, under-resourced areas in their own countries. They collaborate with the community to design and implement small-scale projects that address their top priorities and, by doing so, gain the skills and experience that lay the foundation for personal and professional success.

CorpsAfrica trusts youth and communities to help each other.
