Biography
Meron Solomon is a dedicated advocate for community development and empowerment. A graduate in Business Administration, she joined CorpsAfrica/Ethiopia in 2024, where she facilitated community-led development projects in the Oromia Region—specifically in the Jimma Zone, Seka Chokorsa Woreda, and Buyo Kechema Kebele.
During her year-long service, Meron focused primarily on a central project aimed at enhancing community well-being. In addition, she organized several secondary initiatives that significantly benefited local residents.
One notable initiative involved conducting handcraft training for women, empowering them to create and sell handmade goods. This effort not only provided valuable skills but also helped generate sustainable income for their families.
Meron also prioritized youth development by offering training sessions in areas such as liquid soap production and tutoring. These activities equipped young individuals with essential skills to support their future success.
After completing her ten-month stay in the community, Meron transitioned into a staff role at CorpsAfrica/Ethiopia as a Volunteer Liaison. She is enthusiastic about her new position and remains committed to the organization’s mission of fostering community empowerment and development.
With a promising future at CorpsAfrica, Meron is eager to continue contributing to meaningful and lasting change in the communities she serves.
