Soliyana Gessesse is a passionate and driven information scientist and graphic designer, deeply committed to serving her community and uplifting others. Born and raised in the scenic city of Hawassa, Ethiopia—surrounded by its iconic lake and mountains—Soliyana grew up with a deep appreciation for the natural beauty and rich culture of her homeland.
She pursued her academic journey at the University of Gondar, where she earned her Bachelor Degree in Information Science. Eager to expand her creative and technical skills, she went on to obtain an international certificate in graphic design from Learnio. This unique blend of expertise allows her to bridge the worlds of technology and design, making her a valuable asset in today’s digital landscape. Soliyana has always believed in the power of giving back. Over the years, she has volunteered in various initiatives supporting youth, children, and women, consistently advocating for equity and opportunity. Today, she serves as a Volunteer with CorpsAfrica/Ethiopia, where she champions community-led development, believing that sustainable change begins with empowering local voices.
Her work reflects both her professional dedication and her personal mission to contribute to a brighter, more inclusive future for Ethiopia. Soliyana is not only a skilled and thoughtful professional but also a compassionate leader committed to making a meaningful impact.
