Biography

Alice Joana Kamowa is a young and hardworking lady who majored agricultural economics at LUANAR in 2021.Her academic journey involved learning the basic economic principles which can be linked to agriculture. The basic economic principles are to be used to solve the daily economic challenges facing the households.

My area of interest is to be part of impacting life positively as far as the economic challenges are concerned at a household level using agriculture which is the backbone of Malawi’s economy. Since SDG 1 is after poverty reduction it is of my high interest to work towards contributing to poverty reduction at a household level, later the community and the country at large. Agriculture practicing ends food insecurity as well as financial problems at the household level. Hence moving towards the poverty and hunger reduction SDGs.

My hobbies include reading and listening to music at times that am free and feel like relaxing not forgetting attending prayer sessions since God oversees us day in day out.
Am excited to be part of that cohort which has fully recognised and believed in the potential that women have towards serving in their own communities in bringing a positive impact on the lives of the community either in the education, health and all other sectors that are of high influence on people’s lives.
