Biography


AKIMANA Henriette holds a Bachelor’s degree in Physics and Chemistry Education from the University of Rwanda. Passionate about education and community development, she began her journey as a CorpsAfrica Volunteer in Rwanda, working across Huye District to empower youth and communities. She implemented projects in kitchen garden construction, piggery farming, passion fruit cultivation, and youth savings groups, while also facilitating practical skills workshops in donut making and paper bag production. Through these initiatives, she promoted self-reliance, income generation, and improved nutrition.

Henriette also played an active role in organizing community umuganda’s reconstructing latrines, and mobilizing youth groups, demonstrating leadership, teamwork, and problem-solving skills. Her work emphasized sustainable community development and youth empowerment, leaving a lasting impact on the communities she served.

Continuing her journey, Henriette became an exchange volunteer in Malawi, where she is expanding her experience in cross-cultural community engagement, sustainable agriculture, and youth-led initiatives. She is committed to leveraging her academic background and international volunteer experience to create meaningful social impact, strengthen community capacities, and promote sustainable development across diverse contexts.
