Biography

Monalisa Chandidya is a dedicated and passionate registered Nurse and Midwife with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing and Midwifery from Mzuzu University obtained in 2025. Throughout her academic training, she gained practical experience in various healthcare settings.

In addition to her degree, Monalisa has obtained other certifications from Mzuzu University, including a Certificate in Application of Digital Technology in Nursing and Health Care Setting and a Certificate in Stripe HIV in Africa, both in 2023. She is also a young leader at Malawi Girl Guides Association, a volunteering organization that empowers and advocates for Girls and young women to develop socially, emotionally, physically, mentally and spiritually.

In January 2025, Monalisa was teaching at Gray matter Academy which is a primary private school in rural Lilongwe and was teaching English, Mathematics, Bible knowledge and other subjects in reception class. Prior to recruitment into CorpsAfrica, Monalisa was working as a Marketing and administrative officer at the Hair and Beauty Academy in Kawale 1, Lilongwe.

Her professional background as a nurse, a teacher, a marketing and administrative officer and a Malawi girl guides association young leader will be essential in her integration as a CorpsAfrica Volunteer because these positions have nurtured her into becoming an excellent person in building rapport, exercising patience and becoming a trusted member of any community.

She is most excited about being able to make a tangible impact to people by having to work with different people with different beliefs and traditions and that will require her to step out of her comfort zone for personal and professional growth. She is so passionate about helping people especially Girls and Young women. During her free time she loves braiding and styling hair.
