Biography
MonaLisa Kangulu is a Social Work graduate from DMI St. John the Baptist University in Malawi with a strong passion for community development, education, and youth empowerment. She has experience working with communities, schools, and civil society organizations, focusing on social impact projects in education, child protection, climate resilience, and health awareness.
She is the Founder of Mizu, a youth-led social impact initiative that has implemented projects in Early Childhood Development, WASH, and Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR), benefiting both school-going and out-of-school youth. MonaLisa has also worked with organizations such as World Vision Malawi, where she supported health-related projects in Monitoring and Evaluation, and the PLO Lumumba Foundation, where she contributes to youth programs in leadership and Pan-Africanism.
Her areas of interest include project management, public policy and diplomacy, education, and humanitarian work, and she is deeply committed to advancing inclusive opportunities for vulnerable and underrepresented groups. Beyond her professional work, MonaLisa enjoys public speaking, facilitating community dialogues, writing, and mentoring young people.
She is excited to join the CorpsAfrica cohort as it provides a unique opportunity to live and learn alongside a host community, co-create sustainable solutions, and apply her skills in service, facilitation, and project design because we are the one’s we’ve been waiting for.
