Biography
Patricia Mboma holds a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism from the Malawi University of Business and Applied Sciences (MUBAS). She has experience in media, communication, community development, photojournalism, and marketing. At the Malawi Broadcasting Corporation (MBC) under the Development Broadcasting Unit (DBU), Patricia served as an intern in reporting, production, and presentation. In this role, she worked closely with community members to highlight their priorities, strengths, and challenges, ensuring their perspectives were amplified on national platforms. She also developed skills in script writing, audio editing, narration, and documentary production, using storytelling to support community-driven initiatives.
She also worked with FDH Bank as a Digital Sales Agent, promoting financial inclusion by connecting underserved communities to digital banking solutions. This experience strengthened her understanding of how access to resources empowers communities, improves livelihoods, and supports locally led development.
Passionate about community-led development, Patricia believes in the power of storytelling and creative media to inspire change. She enjoys content creation, photography, and videography, using these skills to document impact and elevate community voices. Joining the CorpsAfrica Cohort 9, Patricia is eager to apply her expertise to advance sustainable development, empower rural communities, and contribute meaningfully to the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals through solutions driven and owned by the communities themselves.
