Biography


Temwa Phiri is a dedicated and hardworking young woman who recently graduated from the University of Malawi with a Bachelor’s Degree in Social Science Gender Studies. She also has a Certificate in Project Monitoring and Evaluation.

Temwa has always been interested in working with diverse groups of people, and because of this keen interest she worked as a peer educator at Added Power and Understanding in Sustainable Education (APAUSE), where she educated secondary school students on Sexual Reproductive Health, empowering them to make informed decisions regarding their sexual health.

Additionally, as an intern at the Coalition for the Empowerment of Women and Girls (CEWAG), she actively advocated against gender-based violence and promoted women’s empowerment. Furthermore, as an intern at M’mbewa District Council where she advocated for various social issues including women empowerment, gender-based violence and gender equality.

Currently, as a CorpsAfrica/Malawi Volunteer, she views this role as an opportunity for both personal and professional development, driven by her passion for creating meaningful change in the lives of youth, women, and the broader community.
