Biography

Valens Dusabe was born and raised in Rwanda. He holds a bachelor’s degree in Rural Development from the University of Rwanda, College of Agriculture, Animal Science, and Veterinary Medicine. During his time at university, he developed a strong passion for agricultural extension, rural transformation, and empowering farmers. His dissertation reflects his commitment to advancing livelihoods through sustainable agriculture.

Valens has served as a Rotation Officer at Rwanda Village Community Promoters (RVCP) and gained experience in data collection through surveys with Raising the Village (RTV) in Ngororero District. He has also been actively engaged in leadership and community initiatives, including serving as President of the Red Cross Youth Section at UR/CAVM and being a member of the Agri Research Club. His dedication to community service and development further deepened when he was selected as a CorpsAfrica Volunteer, where he is currently serving in Ngororero District, supporting communities through participatory development approaches.

Valens is passionate about fostering sustainable rural development, advancing agricultural innovation, and empowering youth and farmers to overcome poverty. His long-term vision is to contribute to achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), especially in ending hunger, promoting decent work, and building resilient communities.
