Biography

Promesse Himbaza Agahozo was born and raised in Rwanda. He holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Geography and Environmental Planning Management from the University of Rwanda, where he graduated in October 2024. His academic journey reflects his passion for environmental sustainability, climate action, and community development.

Promesse has accumulated diverse experiences through volunteering and professional engagements. He has served with Youth for Christ Rwanda, where he gained leadership and discipleship skills. He also volunteers with World Vision in partnership with the Free Methodist Church of Rwanda, supporting community-driven initiatives. As a CorpsAfrica/Rwanda Volunteer, he is committed to serving rural communities and fostering sustainable development solutions. In addition, he completed an internship at the Water and Sanitation Corporation (WASAC), focusing on environmental impact assessments, which sharpened his analytical and project management skills.

Beyond his professional and academic journey, Promesse is a talented musician who enjoys singing and playing musical instruments. He uses his musical gift to inspire, connect with people, and bring hope to his community.

He is inspired by the belief that young people are catalysts for transformation in their communities. Promesse is particularly passionate about climate resilience, the circular economy, and inclusive community empowerment. His dedication to service is grounded in advancing Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly those addressing environmental protection, poverty reduction, and education.

Promesse envisions himself as a leader who bridges knowledge, innovation, and community engagement to create lasting positive change. He is excited to contribute his skills, experiences, and passion during his CorpsAfrica service, working hand in hand with local communities in Rulindo District, Bushoki Sector, to build sustainable and resilient livelihoods.
