Biography

Ihimbazwe Blandine pursued her passion for agriculture by completing her A2 in Agriculture (Crop Production) at EAV Ntendezi and later advanced her studies at IPRC Musanze, where she earned her A1 in Crop Production.

Her professional journey reflects her strong commitment to Rwanda’s agricultural sector. She gained early experience through internships in maize and tea production as well as soil conservation practices in Kirimbi Sector. In 2022, she contributed to coffee farming communities by supporting fertilizer distribution to farmers under Dormans Coffee. Currently, Blandine serves as a Coffee Production Field Officer in Rubavu District with the JICA Coffee Value Chain Project (CUP2 Rwanda). In this role, she guides producers in adopting improved farming practices, monitors crop growth, and supports coffee processing to ensure both quality and sustainability.

Blandine has enhanced her expertise through specialized training by the Coffee Quality Institute (CQI) in Coffee Processing (Levels 1 & 2), where she gained valuable knowledge on post-harvest processing, quality control, and flavour profiling. These experiences deepened her understanding of coffee value chains and strengthened her ability to support farmers in achieving better yields and market opportunities.

She is motivated by a strong sense of responsibility, teamwork, and integrity, and is passionate about empowering smallholder farmers to adopt sustainable practices that improve their livelihoods. Beyond her professional life, Blandine enjoys singing, gardening, and reading activities that nurture her creativity and personal growth.

Her vision is to make a lasting impact in Rwanda’s agriculture sector by promoting sustainable crop production, strengthening farmer capacities, and contributing to national and global efforts toward food security and economic development.
