Peninah Irafasha

Biography

Peninah Irafasha is a Rwandan with a bachelor’s degree in economics with specialisation in monetary economics from the University of Rwanda, where she built a strong foundation in analysis and problem-solving. She gained professional experience as an intern in the Ministry of Trade and Industry, serving in the planning, monitoring and evaluation unit, where she contributed and gained knowledge in preparation of action plans. She also served as a Girl Effect advisory panel member, where she took part in the presentation of findings and insights at the Women Deliver conference about girls and mobile 2.0. She also served as a teaching assistant with Inspire, Empower and Educate Rwanda at G.S. Muzizi, and she is an active member of Urubuto N.G.O

Currently, she is serving as a CorpsAfrica/Rwanda Volunteer working closely with communities to design and implement sustainable projects that improve livelihoods using community-led approach (CLD), asset-based community development (ABCD) and human-centred design (HCD). She is passionate about empowering youth and promoting sustainable community development. Peninah is guided by resilience and passion for service and is committed to contributing to sustainable community development, learning from them and creating long-lasting positive change.
