Biography
Prosper Ishimwe holds a Bachelor of Science with Honors in Applied Statistics and Demography from the University of Rwanda. Throughout his academic journey, Prosper developed strong expertise in data analysis, demographic research, and effective communication, earning certifications in public speaking and data science.
He gained practical experience through his internship at Construction Work Consult and Software Training of Civil Engineering (CCSCE Ltd.), where he conducted statistical analyses to inform development planning, and through his research project on the socio-economic determinants of HIV/AIDS prevalence and access to treatment in Rwanda. In addition, he worked in the financial sector as a Direct Sales Agent at the Bank of Kigali, where he strengthened his customer service, relationship management, and financial literacy skills.
Prosper has also been actively involved in volunteer initiatives with iDebate Rwanda, Wikimedia, and the Global UNLEASH Innovation Lab. These experiences have enhanced his leadership, collaboration, and youth empowerment abilities while exposing him to sustainable development challenges and solutions.
Currently, Prosper is serving as a CorpsAfrica/Rwanda Volunteer in Huye District, Ruhashya Sector, Gatovu Cell, and Murama Village. He is dedicated to helping the community graduate from poverty by the end of his service and is particularly focused on supporting at least 60 young people, especially women, to create new job opportunities. He is also eager to grow personally during this journey of service, cultural immersion, and impact.
Prosper is passionate about applying data-driven solutions to social and economic development while empowering youth and communities to build sustainable futures.
