Biography
Dorcah Nyatichi Nyanchoka holds a Bachelor’s degree in Project Planning and Management, which has equipped her with the skills to lead and support impactful community development initiatives. Her passion for service led her to join CorpsAfrica/Kenya, where she served as a Volunteer embedded in a rural community. During her service, Dorcah worked collaboratively with community members to identify priority needs and implement sustainable, locally driven solutions. Her activities focused on environmental sustainability, youth empowerment, and improving access to quality education through her community project. Through CorpsAfrica, Dorcah deepened her understanding of participatory development and the importance of empowering communities to take ownership of their progress. She believes that sustainable change begins at the grassroots level and is driven by empathy, collaboration, and trust.
In 2022, prior to her CorpsAfrica service, Dorcah began her humanitarian journey by volunteering with Compassion International – Malaba (Kenya). In this role, she engaged directly with children and their families, supporting their education, health, and emotional well-being. She found immense joy in witnessing the transformation made possible through the organization’s programs, which helped children from disadvantaged backgrounds meet their basic needs and access new opportunities.
Her experience with both CorpsAfrica and Compassion Kenya has taught her invaluable lessons about resilience, compassion, and the power of community. Dorcah is a passionate advocate for environmental stewardship and social equity, drawing inspiration from her rural roots and the communities she has served.
She remains dedicated to nurturing the next generation, promoting sustainable development, and fostering a spirit of giving and hope. Dorcah firmly believes that even the smallest acts of service can spark meaningful change.
