Busisiwe Ngubane
Volunteer
Biography

Busisiwe Ngubane was born and raised in Alexandra, Gauteng, South Africa. She holds an honours degree in Community Development which she obtained from the University of Johannesburg in 2023. This strengthened her foundation in sustainable people-centred approaches to social change. Her journey in community development has been shaped by meaningful student volunteer work, where she facilitated a children’s book club to promote early literacy and a love for reading. She has also led an awareness programme on sexual violence to promote safety, knowledge and empowerment.

Alongside her volunteer work, Busisiwe’s experience as a tutor and later senior tutor exposed her to the educational injustices and learning gaps faced by children in underserved communities. These experiences deepened her commitment to advocating for equitable access to learning and holistic community support. Busisiwe now serves as a CorpsAfrica/South Africa Cohort 3 Volunteer where she continues to apply her passion, leadership and training in community-led development.
