Biography
Rachel Thawatha is a passionate and dedicated gender practitioner with a Bachelor’s Degree in Gender and Development from LUANAR. She is deeply committed to promoting gender equality and empowering communities through inclusive and sustainable development initiatives.
Rachel has previously been involved with the Youth Innovation Centre for Change ( YICC) as a Field Facilitator, where she worked closely with young people to promote community-driven solutions. She also worked with the Centre for Youth Empowerment and Civic Education (CYECE) as a Young researcher academy participant with this experience she has been equipped with strong research and analytical skills.
Her interests lie in advancing women’s rights, social justice, and community development. Beyond her professional work, Rachel enjoys spending time in calm and reflective spaces, connecting with people, and engaging in meaningful conversations.
Rachel is excited to be part of the cohort as it provides an opportunity to collaborate with like-minded individuals, exchange knowledge, and contribute to creating lasting positive change in society.
