Biography
Kumba Ndure is a determined volunteer and a passionate storyteller with a deep commitment to community development and youth empowerment. She recently earned her BSc in Journalism and Digital Media from the University of The Gambia. During her undergraduate journey, she served as the Education and Research Minister in the 7th Executive Council of the Journalism Students’ Association. Her commitment to student service earned her the Most Supportive Student Leader award and a nomination to serve as an honorary member of the 8th Executive Council.
Her impact extends beyond campus. Kumba has a strong commitment to mentorship and youth empowerment. As a mentor-in-training at Starfish International Organization, she nurtured young minds and was honored with the Director’s Award 2024 in recognition of her hard work and integrity.
She holds an advanced diploma in leadership and has completed certifications in migration and ethical reporting. Kumba also interned at Paradise TV Gambia as a news reporter, gaining hands-on experience in human interest reporting and ethical journalism.
Her leadership journey began in secondary school where she served as head girl, leading and facilitating different school activities. With a deep passion for telling untold stories and driving social change, Kumba sees journalism as a tool for advocacy and empowerment. She enjoys listening to stories, traveling, and exploring new ideas.
As a CorpsAfrica Volunteer, Kumba is committed to becoming a catalyst for sustainable community development guided by empathy, inclusion and purpose.
