Niana Daher
Volunteer
Biography

An economist by training, Niana Daher has chosen a path where analysis drives action. Holding a Bachelor’s degree in Economic Analysis, she naturally oriented herself towards agriculture and development, convinced that sustainable solutions to social challenges are built close to the communities. She strengthened this conviction by obtaining a Master’s degree in Rural Economics and Agricultural Policy from Université Cheikh Anta Diop, and further enhanced her profile with practical certifications in horticulture and local cereal processing.

Selected from over 1,700 candidates, she joined CorpsAfrica/Sénégal as a Volunteer in Cohort 8, serving in Ngayna Lebou, a Wolof fishing village in northern Senegal. Deeply committed to intimate health issues, she conducted awareness campaigns on menstrual hygiene for 306 young people and trained 249 girls across four villages on making reusable sanitary pads. With local women, she co-created a community enterprise specializing in soap, food-grade bleach, and artisanal dye production, strengthening both technical skills and financial autonomy for 40 women. Driven by local innovation, she launched the first modern fish farm in the northern zone, a structuring project that extended her service to 11 months.

Today, as an Exchange Volunteer with CorpsAfrica/Côte d’Ivoire in the very first cohort, Niana leverages her experience to strengthen the technical capacities of fellow Volunteers. Self-demanding, resilient, and deeply committed to women’s leadership, she carries a vision of development that is grounded, inclusive, and sustainable.
