Biography
Belphor Koffi is a development sociology student-researcher, holding a Master’s degree in the field and currently pursuing a PhD at Université Alassane Ouattara. Her academic journey is focused on applied research addressing local governance, gender issues, and rural development.
Passionate about women’s empowerment, she dedicates her doctoral research to analyzing and revitalizing the political power of women in rural areas, aiming to enhance female participation in local decision-making processes. This scientific and social commitment has allowed her to participate in multiple projects targeting the empowerment of rural women, particularly in leadership, social inclusion, and capacity building.
Alongside her academic work, Belphor Koffi gained valuable experience in data collection and analysis at her university’s Research and Development Center, strengthening her skills in applied research and community diagnostics. She took her first steps in hands-on community development by joining CorpsAfrica/Côte d’Ivoire as a Volunteer in the first national cohort. In this role, she supports rural communities in identifying their needs and co-creating locally led, sustainable, and inclusive solutions.
Belphor Koffi firmly believes that development is only effective with local ownership. She applies an approach based on community leadership, citizen participation, and the empowerment of local actors. Through her engagement, she aspires to contribute sustainably to improving living conditions in rural areas while promoting the values of solidarity, resilience, and civic engagement championed by CorpsAfrica.
