Biography

Drawn to CorpsAfrica’s unique model of community-led development, Chaz Kyser joined the organization as Director of Communications in 2026. In this role, she leads communications efforts to enhance CorpsAfrica’s visibility and influence across the continent and beyond.

During her career, Chaz has applied her communications expertise within the international development, higher education, and government consulting sectors. Her background includes roles with the United Nations Environment Programme, the Global Framework on Chemicals, and the U.S. Embassy in Jamaica. She also led communications for two large USAID-funded initiatives: the West Africa Trade & Investment Hub and the West Africa Biodiversity and Climate Change Program. These experiences reinforced her belief in the power of locally driven solutions to strengthen communities, expand opportunity, and improve livelihoods.

Chaz’s passion also extends to women’s empowerment and career development. As a speaker and workshop facilitator, she has addressed more than 90 audiences and is known for her engaging, practical approach to helping people navigate professional and personal growth. As a writer, she is the author of two books, Careeranista: The Woman’s Guide to Success After College and Embracing the Real World: The Black Woman’s Guide to Life After College.

Chaz holds a master’s degree in publishing from Pace University and bachelor’s degrees in journalism and sociology from Texas State University. Based in Washington, DC, she also calls Ghana home.
