Biography
Mohammed Abdul-Rahim is a Medical Laboratory Scientist and CorpsAfrica/Ghana G5 Volunteer from northern Ghana. He grew up in Kangbagu, a small rural community where access to education and other opportunities was limited. Growing up there shaped his desire to contribute to communities facing similar challenges, particularly in education and healthcare.
He holds a Doctor of Medical Laboratory Science degree from the University for Development Studies. Before joining CorpsAfrica, he completed his national service at the Laboratory Department of Tolon District Hospital, where he gained practical experience serving patients in a rural setting. He has also volunteered with Ummy Relief Foundation, taking part in community sanitation and outreach activities.
Mohammed is particularly concerned about the challenges facing education in rural communities in northern Ghana, especially the barriers that prevent many girls from staying in school and reaching their full potential. He hopes to use his voice and experience to advocate for and promote girls’ education and empowerment.
As a CorpsAfrica Volunteer serving in Bukpomo in the Sagnarigu Municipality, he hopes to learn from the community, build genuine relationships, and work alongside community members on solutions that reflect their priorities and can last beyond his service.
