Biography

Yisak Falisk was born on April 5, 2003, in Hawassa, Sidama. He studied Information Technology at Jimma University Institute of Technology, where he developed the knowledge and skills that prepared him for his professional journey.

Before joining CorpsAfrica, Yisak gained practical experience working with different organizations, including the Ethiopian Statistics Service as a Supervisor and the EthioPost National ID Project as a Supervisor Officer. These experiences strengthened his leadership, communication, teamwork, data management, and problem-solving skills. However, some of his most meaningful experiences have come from working directly with people and supporting their needs.

One defining chapter of his journey was volunteering as a community organizer during a regional development campaign. He successfully coordinated a team of 20 volunteers to register more than 1,000 households for a local health initiative within a tight deadline. He also supported more than 100 low-income families in his community. These experiences deepened his understanding of what can be achieved when people come together around a shared purpose.

Today, as a CorpsAfrica Volunteer, Yisak works alongside community members, local leaders, and stakeholders to identify challenges, mobilize resources, and support sustainable solutions. His training in Asset-Based Community-Led Development and Human-Centered Design has further strengthened his approach to community service.

Yisak is passionate about working with people and contributing to positive social change. Guided by respect, humility, teamwork, integrity, and community ownership, he hopes to continue empowering people and supporting communities in building a more sustainable future.
