Biography

My name is Melkamu Mirate, an Ethiopian professional with a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting , which I completed in 2021.

I began my volunteer journey with the ministry of peace in Dire Dawa City. Serving from 8 March 2021 to 9 December 2022. During this period, I provided voluntary community services in kebele 02, supporting community members with different social and administrative services.

From 12 September 2023 to 13 July 2024, I served as a Volunteer with World Vision Ethiopia, where I supported activities related to Child Protection. This experience helped me strengthen my skills in community engagement, communication,team work, and supporting vulnerable communities.

Currently , I am a Volunteer with CorpsAfrica/Ethiopia, where I am gaining practical experience in community-led Development (CLD). My work focuses on youth engagement, community mobilization, identifying community priorities, and supporting locally driven solutions.

I am passionate about youth empowerment, community development, volunteering, innovation, and social impact. My goal is to use my knowledge, skills , and experience to contribute to meaningful and sustainable change in communities.
