Biography
My name is Mehret Abdela. I was born in Hirna City, West Hararghe, Ethiopia, and grew up moving from place to place, and sometimes between different countries, because of my family’s work. Moving often was not always easy, but it taught me to adapt, understand different cultures, connect with people, and become resilient.
My passion for agriculture led me to the University of Gondar, where I studied Horticulture. My education helped me understand how agriculture can improve livelihoods and contribute to stronger, more sustainable communities.
Today, I am serving as a CorpsAfrica/Ethiopia Volunteer, where I work with communities, listen to their challenges, and support locally driven solutions. My journey has taught me that every experience has a purpose, and I hope to use my knowledge, experiences, and passion for service to create a meaningful impact in the lives of others.
