Biography

Buhlebemvelo Dlamini is an interdisciplinary practitioner and systems thinker working at the intersection of climate change, human wellbeing, food security and community resilience. With a background in Psychology from the North-West University, her work explores the human dimensions of environmental and social challenges, including how people understand risk, respond to environmental disruption, and engage in behavioural change.

She is the Founder and Executive Director of 4Earth, a youth-focused initiative that uses environmental education, sustainable agriculture and climate awareness to make climate action practical and locally meaningful while creating behavioural change. Her broader work spans planetary health, youth development, disaster resilience, sustainable development, and social justice.

She has participated in various youth-led and international platforms, including the beVisioneers: Mercedes-Benz Fellowship, WWF YCC, Women Leaders in Planetary Health, Y20, BRICS+ Cultural and Creatives Forum, UN Volunteers and LCOY South Africa.

Her work is grounded in a simple question: what happens when we stop treating interconnected problems as if they exist in isolation? She does not believe in choosing one box simply because it makes things easier to understand. She is interested in the connections between the boxes: climate and mental health; food systems and dignity; disaster resilience and community wellbeing; education and behavioural change; and environmental action and social justice.

The world rarely gives us problems one at a time, so perhaps our solutions should not either. CorpsAfrica stands for that and so much more, and what better way to grow as a community development practitioner than to be a CorpsAfrica Volunteer.
