Biography
Tiisetso Matlawa is a 29 years old Bachelor of Arts in Forensic Sciences and Technology graduate from the University of South Africa, majoring in Criminology. Her journey has always been shaped by curiosity about people, their experiences, and the challenges they face. Over time, this curiosity has grown into a genuine desire to understand communities and play a part in creating positive change.
Her experience volunteering at the Tswaing Youth and Child Care Development Center gave her an opportunity to connect with young people and see the importance of having someone who listens, cares, and believes in their potential. It also taught her that making a difference does not always require having all the answers; sometimes, it starts with simply showing up and being willing to listen.
Tiisetso is passionate about young people, community development, and creating spaces where people feel valued and empowered. She believes that communities know their needs best and that lasting change comes from working with people, rather than simply doing things for them.
She joined CorpsAfrica/South Africa because she wants to serve, learn, and grow alongside a community. She hopes to bring her own experiences while being open to learning from others. For Tiisetso, this journey is not only about making a difference, but also about becoming a better leader, understanding people more deeply, and discovering new ways to contribute to the communities around her.
