Biography

Joseph Ochieng Onyango is a Computer Science graduate from Egerton University (Class of 2026) with a strong skill set spanning full-stack web development, data engineering, data analytics, cloud computing, and cybersecurity. He is proficient in Python, React, SQL, Django, Node.js, Tableau, Power BI, and holds an AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner certification. He also brings practical cybersecurity skills including ethical hacking, network vulnerability assessment, and security analysis trained through platforms such as TryHackMe and Hack The Box and grounded in tools like Nmap, Wireshark, and OWASP frameworks. Joseph approaches every technical challenge with a build-first mindset, a strong eye for detail, and a genuine curiosity for how systems work under the hood.

Outside of tech, Joseph wears many hats. He is a hockey player representing three clubs, a hockey coach, a footballer, a fitness coach, and a Master of Ceremonies who knows how to hold a room. He is an IOC Young Leader and FISU Ambassador, and an active Volunteer with the President’s Award Kenya, having earned his Bronze and Silver Awards and currently completing his final year toward the Gold Award certificate. He is a committed team builder who understands that lasting results, whether on the pitch, in the gym, or in a codebase, come from people who trust each other and show up consistently.

He believes that the same discipline that earns you a Gold Award ;showing up, doing the work, and growing through the process;is what separates good engineers from great ones.
