Biography

Serah Samuel is a Business Management graduate from African Leadership College, Mauritius, and an emerging development professional passionate about community development, youth empowerment, climate resilience, and sustainable livelihoods. She has experience in fundraising, proposal development, business development, and community capacity strengthening, supporting initiatives that promote entrepreneurship, environmental sustainability, and community-led development.

Her commitment to service has been shaped by her work with entrepreneurs, youth, and grassroots organizations, where she has seen the power of building on the strengths and assets that already exist within communities. Through training and practical experience in Asset-Based Community Development (ABCD), Human-Centred Design (HCD), and community engagement, she has developed skills in facilitating participatory processes, mobilizing local assets, and supporting locally driven solutions.

As a CorpsAfrica/Kenya Volunteer, Serah embraces the Community-Led Development approach, believing that lasting change begins with listening, fostering trust, and working alongside communities to identify and lead their own solutions. She is committed to serving with humility, learning from local knowledge, and contributing to sustainable, community-owned impact while building a career in international development.
