Biography

Winfred Githimbo grew up in rural Kiambu, and her time in clinical practice showed her how often a family’s health depends on what it can afford. That is why she cares as much about financial inclusion and entrepreneurship as she does about health. She lives by the old saying that an investment in knowledge always pays the best interest, and she sees community work the same way. At Wazi Kenya, a youth-led organisation in Nairobi, she sits on the Mentorship and Fundraising Committee. She is ambitious, and open-minded enough to change course when a community shows her a better way. One day she hopes to use technology to improve public health, and Corps Africa is where she wants to start, learning from a community before building anything for it.
